Friends of the Family that is the Bench Mob.
I had this post lined up for a couple of days but wanted to wait until today to really touch it up and get it out there.
It’s not you, it’s us and no this is not a break up of any sorts.
There’s good news and bad news.
The good news? I start a new job tomorrow in the marketing field. This is an opportunity that I am beyond excited for and I cannot wait to get rolling with the team I am joining. Having the opportunity to join a company, do something I love doing, and be able to learn is something that I think we all take for granted. I am not one of those people.
The bad news? The Bench Mob.
I’m not going to sit here and say that this is really “bad” news because it’s not. Ever since we came back from our little break we have been trying to put out as much content as possible. Sean and I pride ourselves on writing quality stuff in order to build the foundation that is the Bench Mob.
I have had a lot of free time lately in order to write these blogs and it’s been time well spent. Believe me when I say that I have the most fun when I’m working on stuff for this site.
I know Sean feels the same way. Sean works his ass off day in and day out at a variety of jobs that take up so much time. That’s why I appreciate every blog he puts up.
Now that I’ll be taking a new job, I understand the challenges that will come with trying to be current and quick with the fast-paced environment that is Sports media. I’m thrilled to be jumping on board with an amazing company, but I know that the site will take a hit in terms of quick hitting blogs.
Why Are You Telling Us This?
It’s simple. The last time I became over overwhelmed with my job (the position before this one) I completely went away from the site in order to try and self-educate on a variety of topics where I didn’t have a marketing mentor.
I literally went to work from 9:00 AM to sometimes 6 or 7 PM just to come home and watch a shit ton of YouTube videos made by marketing king Gary Vaynerchuck so I could soak in as much as possible.
Pair that schedule with a variety of personal stuff and that led to the halt of the site.
Now that we’re back, I do not plan on going away just because I’m taking a new job. I want to be upfront and transparent with our base that takes time to read our stuff… because we really appreciate it more than you know.
Not Going Anywhere
It’s true, we aren’t going anywhere.
Things are going to change though. I’ve spent so much time thinking about ways to work in tandem with my new job and make sure that the site stays active. It’s been daunting, but it’s a challenge that I’m up for.
While we won’t be able to blog every story right as it happens. I know we’re going to be doing the right things to make sure we get the content up.
I’m hoping to get into the Podcast game and we have something in the works that we hope to bring out sometime soon. We’re also looking into launching some merchandise and think it will be big for us to get the Bench Mob out to as many people as possible.
A lot of our blogs will come at night time, so if you’re looking for some light reading while you destroy your Netflix account… We’ll be here.
I just wanted to make sure we’re all on the same page because the last time we went ghost somebody actually texted me to see if I was still alive… Yikes.
Again, I really mean it when I say that I appreciate everyone who comes to the site to read what we have to say. It means a shit ton to us and we look forward to thinking of new ways to bring content to you each day.
