Tom Brady has been quiet since the Super Bowl loss. It’s not surprising at all. Do you know where Tom Brady is right now?
He’s probably in beautiful Big Sky, Montana screaming at a mountain about the strip-sack. I do not blame him for waiting a bit before really talking about the game.
Tom makes sure to give the world a novel in this post.
It has taken me a few days to reflect on our SB loss as well as the great season our team had. There are many emotions when you come up short of your goal. And they are all part of learning and growing in this journey of life. Learning turns everything into a postitive. And the number one feeling I have had the past 4 days is gratitude. Gratitude to my teammates for the incredible effort given all season regardless of the challenges we faced. Gratitude toward my coaches for the effort and sacrifice they make to put us players in the best position to win. Gratitude to the NEP organization for supporting us on our very challenging and difficult journey. Gratitude to the Philadelphia Eagles team and organization for bringing out the best in us and being gracious winners (as well as congratulations on winning the championship) Gratitude toward our fans who showed up every week to cheer us on and commit their time and energy and love and support to what our goals are. And gratitude to my family and friends who continue to love and support my dreams. Thank you all. I love you all. Best, Tom
Obviously, this Super Bowl loss is going to haunt Brady for a long time. He knows that if his defense just got one stop then the game was theirs. Tom Brady knows that if he doesn’t get stripped, he’s going to march down that field and score with very little time left for the Eagles to answer.
He still is appreciative of everyone around him. He knows that it is a team game. I’m not going to sit here and wash Brady’s nuts over this post because it’s a post that you’ll see from most players.
This post does give me hope though. You can tell that Brady wrote this with that anger in his heart about losing this game. This is a post he was never supposed to be writing.
I think a new fire has been lit. Tom Brady never needs any more motivation than the motivation he already has, but this loss adds to it. I will say it again, this is not the way Tom Brady will end his career. I’m confident in another Super Bowl victory for the Patriots in the future because Tom Brady will not allow his career to be bookended with that loss.
I know this is a reach but I will admit I laughed out loud when I read the part about the coaches.
“Gratitude toward my coaches for the effort and sacrifice they make to put us players IN THE BEST POSITION TO WIN.”
I know it’s not a jab at Bill, but it’s funny to think of Tom writing this just cursing Bill’s name and screaming THIS IS FOR YOU MALCOLM!
Notice the actual picture. You are a fool if you don’t think that was done on purpose.
Tom Brady’s biggest off-season mission besides keeping his body healthy is convincing Rob Gronkowski to keep destroying his by running routes next season. This entire post is about appreciation and using a picture of Brady and Gronk sends a really strong message.
The Last Of It
I really think that besides Tom vs Time episodes… This will be the last noise we hear out of Tom Brady for a while and I am totally fine with that.
I hope Tommy uses the off-season as this gigantic rage-fueled foundation to literally plot out the tour de force for next season.
