It’s very hard for the Patriots to lose games against divisional opponents at home. Seriously, even when it seems like the Patriots don’t give a shit they still cover their 17 point spread…
Yesterday was a bloodbath, and the Patriots didn’t even play their best football. The Dolphins are hilariously awful to the point where I almost felt bad for the talent on that team… but then I quickly remembered that the Dolphins defense is one of the dirtiest in all of football and I stopped feeling bad.
HERE WE GO!
FUN DEFENSE IS BACK
This defense has it figured out. Over the past couple of games, they have been lights out and yesterday was no different. Miami scored 17 points, but one of those touchdowns came on the Patriots backup center firing a goddamn missile past Brady when he was calling out offensive line assignments.
The Patriots’ defense gave up 10 points yesterday. YES PLEASE!
All day long the Patriots were finding ways to make timely plays. Just before the end of the first-half was opportunistic defense like you read about. Matt Moore essentially throws a punt into the end zone and Stephon Gilmore picked it right off.
You want defensive line pressure as well?
WELL, YOU GOT IT THEN.
7 sacks for the boys yesterday. Matt Moore feels like shit today, that is a fact. It’s awesome know this defense has found an identity that they are comfortable playing with every single game especially now that the games are going to start becoming more and more important as the playoffs approach.
D-LEW AND THE RUSH BOYS
THE PATRIOTS HAVE A CONSISTENT GROUND GAME, FOLKS.
The Pats rushed for 196 yards as a team yesterday and that is BONKERS. Rarely do we see Patriots teams with that kind of rushing production since it’s always been the Brady show throwing darts all over the field.
Dion had 15 carries for 112 yards…
7.5 yards per carry.
The best rush of the day though? NATE EBNER YOU GUESSED IT
FAKE PUNT SZN
Tommy, Rob, and Brandin
This big-three kind of aerial assault is becoming the best part of this team. Tom as per usual was brilliant.
I sneaky love that the touch pass to Cooks on essentially a jet-sweep counts as a touchdown pass. I am very much about that. That’s essentially me inbounding the ball to a teammate after a made basket and they go coast-to-coast for a hard layup. Yes yes and yes.
Cooks and Gronk were dominant all day long. At one point Brady threw a bomb to Cooks where there were literally ZERO Dolphins’ defenders in the TV frame… Hilarious.
The best part of the offense yesterday was that they went 4-4 in the red zone with 4 touchdowns. They had been struggling in that respect recently, and they came out on FIRE.
WHO GOT NEXT?!
The Pats roll into Buffalo next week to face off with Bills Mafia. Get ready for some table smashing and regrets baby! The Bills are coming off beating the Chiefs who I’m convinced are a bunch of dead guys now.
One thing is for sure. The Patriots are ROLLING right now and home-field is going to be theirs for the taking.
